This collection not only includes Mountain Ash but also the Aberaman Railways and Penrikyber Colliery, although at the time these views were probably taken, the three were seperate entities not being combined until late 1971.
There are some images in this collection which are probably not Mountain Ash; if you know where they are please e-mail.
This collection covers locations where I only have a few views.
LOCATIONS COVERED:
NCB Nantgarw Coking Plant
NCB Hafodyrynys
NCB Mardy Colliery Maerdy
NCB Onllwyn
NCB Celynen North
Abercarn Tinplate Works
NCB Treorchy
NCB Brynlliw
A small collection of steam in action at Merthyr Vale in the Taff Valley; a few years after the adjacent village of Aberfan had been engulfed by the colliery's collapsing spoil tips.
These views date from the late 1960's through to a rail tour on 21 March 1970. Unfortunately most views are undated. Whilst the photographer maintained acatalogue of the views he did not record the dates.
